HOLIDAY GREETING CARD DESIGNS & TUTORIALS

On this page you can view holiday greeting cards that I have created. I will indicate next to the card whether the design is my own creation or it's a design that I have learned at a recent stamping event. I will add to this page as I create more designs to share with you. I hope you can get some inspiration from these holiday design ideas. The glue used in all my projects for adhering the cardstock is the double sided permanent glue found at your local office supply store or craft store sold in an easy to use roller. A heat gun was used for embossing and can be purchased from Michael's or Joann's Craft stores or from Stampin Up. Dimensionals are thick round or square, double-sided adhesive on foam used to give your cards a 3-D effect and can also be found at your local craft shop or Stampin Up. See images below.

snowman holiday card
Merry & Bright Holiday Card by Kathy Crow - This card features a cute group of snowmen. I stamped the snowmen on white card stock, 5.5in wide by 2 in high. Then colored them with colored markers in red and green with orange accents. Glued the white snowman strip to a strip of red card stock, 5.5 in wide by 3 in high. Cut 2 strips solid colored gold and red ribbon (any solid ribbon would work like red, black or green) approx. 6 in wide and folded ribbon over red and white card stock so that it covers the edge of the white strip and glue to back. Then glue entire strip to white card stock (5.5 wide x 4.25 in high) about an inch from the top edge. Use 2 in 1 glue pen on the balls of the hats and sprinkled with fine gold glitter. Stamp a verse like "Merry & Bright" on white card stock and cut out with an approx. 1.5 inch oval punch. Punch out scalloped oval (slightly larger size) from gold foil paper (the kind they use for origami folding is perfect). Note: My punches, stamps, ink and card stock come from Stampin Up - I prefer their card stock to any sold in the craft stores. It's very heavy and holds up well for making cards and makes my projects look so much more professional. Now finish your card by stamping a verse inside or print out a verse from your computer on nice paper about 5.25 in x 4 in. and glue to inside of card.
seasons greeting penguin card
Penguin & Walrus Holiday Card by Kathy Crow - This card features an adorable penquin with a red hat on a slab of ice and a walrus with a background of pretty trees. Cut out a piece of red heavy card stock, 6.25in x 4.75in. (overall card size is 6.5 x 5in) Stamp your trees with versamark or any embossing ink. Sprinkle with Heat & Stick powder and heat it up with a heat gun then sprinkle with iridescent ice glitter (Stampin Up) or white fine glitter and heat again to adhere. Cut a piece of sheer gold trimmed ribbon approx. 6 inches and wrap around red card stock and glue down the ends to the back of the CS. Now cut a small piece of the same ribbon and tie a knot on the front of the ribbon. This is an easy way to make knots or bows without wasting a lot of ribbon. Now glue the back of the red CS on all 4 sides and adhere to white CS. Stamp your images of walrus, ice block, penguin, hat and North Pole sign on white CS with Black Ink or Red Ink (as shown). Cut each item out carefully with sharp scissors. Glue down the North Pole sign. Use Popping Dimensionals to adhere the other items to the card. Stamp your saying "Seasons Greetings" and punch out with Scalloped punch and glue to top left of card. To show waves of water just use a dark blue marker and make upside down "v's". Add a greeting inside and you're done.
create quick and easy holiday cards with punches
Season's Greetings Ornament Card (Stamp Camp Project) - This card features 3 ornaments decorated with glitter. Stampin Up has a matching ornament stamp set and ornament punch that work together perfectly to create quick and beautiful holiday cards. We created this card at a Stamp Camp Workshop and stamped the images in green on white CS then punched them out with the ornament punch. We glued a long piece of gold cord on the back of each ornament and then wrapped each gold cord around the top of the white CS and attached the ornaments with dimensionals to the white CS. White CS size is approx. 5.25in x 4.0in. Overall green CS is 5.5in x 4.25in. Use a 2 in 1 glue pen to trace the design on the ornaments and sprinkle with white or iridescent glitter. Stamp "Season's Greetings" at the bottom of the white CS and stamp a greeting inside the card and you're done. This card design is great for mass producing your holiday cards because it's quick and easy when using the punch and matching stamp set. Note: You could also make this card by drawing the ornament design on a piece of cardboard and creating a template that you could use for tracing the design on card stock.
cardmaking christmas cards
Season's Greetings Reindeer Card (Stamp Camp Project) - This card features a reindeer on a snowy mountain with a moon in the sky. Overall size of blue CS is 5.5in x 4.25in. Cut a piece of brown CS 5.25in x 4.0in and a piece of white CS 5.0in x 3.75in. Create a template of the moon by punching out a small circle with a circle punch and create a template of the snowy mountain by cutting a shape out of white paper or cardstock. Place the moon on the upper left part of the white CS and using a small piece of sponge dipped in medium blue ink beginning pressing the sponge into the paper all around the moon template. You want to smoosh into the paper rather than dab to get good coverage. After you ink around the moon you can remove the moon template and then place the mountain template at the bottom of the card and use the same inking motion to create the shape of the snowy mountain. Stamp the image of the reindeer in brown to match the brown CS. Use a gluestick or 2 in 1 glue pen and outline the edge of the mountain then sprinkle with irisdescent glitter. Stamp the greeting at the bottom of the card. Now glue the white CS to the brown CS. Cut a piece of white ribbon approx. 4.5 inches long and wrap on both ends of the brown CS and glue to back permanent glue. Attach back of brown CS to blue cardstock with permanent glue. Now cut a small piece of white ribbon and tie around middle of attached ribbon to create a knot. Add your sentiment inside by cutting a piece of white CS 5.25in x 4.0in and stamping and glueing.
create a santa and reindeer christmas card
Santa Flying over Moon Christmas Card (Stamp Camp Project) - This card features Santa & his Reindeer flying over the moon in the sky. Stamp set is from Stampin Up. Overall size of brown CS is 5.5in x 4.25in. Cut a piece of black CS 5.25in x 4.0in and a piece of white CS 5.0in x 3.75in. Create a template of the moon by punching out a small circle with a circle punch out of white CS. Place the moon on the upper right part of the white CS and using a small piece of sponge dipped in medium blue ink beginning pressing the sponge into the paper all around the moon template. You want to smoosh into the paper rather than dab to get good coverage. After you ink around the moon you can remove the moon template and stamp the Santa image. The trees at the bottom of the card are created by stamping the tops of a tree stamp from Stampin Up with Green Craft Ink and embossing with clear embossing powder using your heat gun. Now glue the white CS to the black CS. Attach black CS to brown cardstock with permanent glue. Add your sentiment inside by cutting a piece of white CS 5.25in x 4.0in and stamping and glueing or printing out a sentiment on your computer and attaching.
